Take Control of Your Mental Health
Whether you feel depressed, anxious, or stressed, treatment with Dr. Andrew Miki will focus on significantly improving your mental health. Dr. Miki is a Registered Clinical Psychologist and uses Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to teach you the skills that you’ll need to make improvements in your emotions, thoughts, and behaviours. The goal is for you to be happier, more productive, and live a better life every day.
How can Dr. Miki help me?
Dr. Miki takes a proactive approach to your therapy. After listening to your concerns, he will provide an assessment of your situation and create a customized treatment plan that focuses on achieving your goals. During each session, Dr. Miki will work closely with you so that you develop the tools necessary to tackle the challenges in your life. Dr. Miki’s role is to teach you to be more confident, have a more positive outlook, and feel empowered to face the future on your own.
Please note: Dr. Miki spends an extra 30 minutes in the first session at no additional cost to the patient (1.5 hours total)*. Dr. Miki does this for several reasons:
- To allow Dr. Miki and the patient ample time to get acquainted with each other
- To perform a diagnostic assessment
- To convey the diagnosis to the patient and answer any questions
- To develop a treatment plan with the patient
*Dr. Miki is a Registered Psychologist so his services may be covered by many extended health benefit plans.

What services does Dr. Miki provide?
Dr. Miki provides CBT for adults who are experiencing:
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Stress
- Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
- Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)
- Adult Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
- Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI)
- Memory Loss (Click here for more information on memory rehabilitation)
Dr. Miki also provides a neuropsychological assessment service to evaluate problems in brain functioning. Unlike CT or MRI brain scans, neuropsychological testing examines how well the brain is functioning when it preforms specific tasks (i.e. paying attention, remembering information). One of the most common reasons for using this type of assessment is to assess problems with attention, memory, and planning/organization experienced by some people with neurological disorders such as a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). Following the assessment, Dr. Miki can provide a diagnosis and outline strengths and weaknesses to help guide rehabilitation and clinical patient management.
